Pages LA - From Concept to Conception

When someone from any ethnic background comes to this country, they often gravitate towards others of their own community. This is why several of these communities have their own Yellow Pages. For decades, these hard copy Ethnic Yellow Pages have brought businesses to specific cultural communities.

78% of U.S. population uses the internet, and North America represents 13% of worldwide internet use (http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats14.htm#north). So today it is universally recognized that every business must have an online presence as the Internet has become an increasingly effective tool for reaching the busy and technology-savvy customers.

The U.S. has the fastest growing ethnic population in the world. Ethnic communities look for companies that specifically appeal to their cultural background and language. And the more people from diverse communities use the internet, the more confident we are that Ethnic Online Networks will dominate the ethnic advertising platform.

Pages LA took the concept of the local ethnic phonebooks to the internet. We are one of the earliest entrants as a vertically aligned network for ethnic communities. By providing an excellent forum to reach these millions of people, all in one place, Pages LA is the leading umbrella of multicultural directories, and plan to raise community awareness, bridge language and cultures gaps, and connect the seemingly isolated communities, starting in Los Angeles.

We at Pages LA nurture multiculturalism and encourage tolerance through developing a forum for businesses that understand this new social and economic climate. Our mission is the growth of local and global economy by building bridges between businesses and the myriad of ethnic communities in the following three ways:

Promoting businesses to multicultural communities:
As a country with a large and increasingly dynamic immigrant population, immigrants contribute to the local life, and reach out from their economic and social niche to positively impact the country. These niche markets play a decisive role in the function and success of the U.S. economy. Incorporating this perspective, Pages LA specializes in promoting multi-ethnic communities with great buying power on the ultimate global forum; the internet. With significant demographic changes in the ethnic and racial make-up of our country, ethnic minority groups are steadily becoming the majority.

Celebrating Musical Diversity

Our marketing approach is based on the changes in the population alongside the knowledge and respect of the traditions of its established communities.

Connecting multicultural businesses:
We view cultural differences as an opportunity for positive growth. The strength of the American economy is created and perpetuated by the contribution of all businesses, not only of a selected few. E pluribus Unum “Out of Many, One”, in economic terms, describes a vision of a successful national economy built on small businesses. In this regard, we facilitate the networking and alliance between businesses. For example, a Jewish business could form a relationship with a Hispanic business and thus, in a pragmatic way, form a new bond between the two communities. We create small intercultural bridges, business to business and business to consumer.


Forming global bonds:
Ethnic business owners are not separate from the communities of their origin and “import” vital new relationships between those countries and the U.S. In our current stage of globalization, a business that recognizes this is especially vital now, where the local is inseparable from the global. Therefore, we aim to reach out to the international community by working with multicultural businesses. For example, when we promote a local immigrant-owned business, we also promote the United States in the global arena.
