Every child is student of the month at Foundations School Community. FSC was founded in 1995 to provide a progressive educational environment where students could foster a love of learning in a safe school community.
Foundations School Community prepares students to become proactive citizens in a democratic society. Our social studies core curriculum provides students with a solid academic program implemented through the progressive philosophy of John Dewey and the developmental teachings of Jean Piaget.
Emotional, social, and physical safety is emphasized through our curriculum as a means of ensuring that all students feel safe and connected to one another. As students work together on various projects and community service projects, both inside and outside of our school community, they develop respect for diversity, compassion for humanity and an understanding of the importance of serving others.
The faculty at FSC are actively engaged in efforts to bring new programs and offerings to our students, and provide more opportunities for families who want to join a diverse, vibrant community committed to the progressive education of children. The students are deeply connected, self-motivated children who are not only proactive in their quest for knowledge, but are open-minded to others and yet secure enough in their own “foundation” to confidently meet the challenges of the ever-changing world.
Foundations School Community is located at 14646 Sherman Way Suite A Van Nuys, CA 91405. We have four daytime tours and one evening open house scheduled for prospective families. Space is limited, so contact us as soon as possible to reserve your spot!
