The HOUSE OF MERCY and the HISPANIC CATHOLIC CHURCH (SAN JUDAS TADEO APOSTOL PARISH) was founded in 1986 by Bishop Juan De Dios Correa, OSB, and new US citizens concerned with the rising number of homeless immigrant families in Los Angeles. As inspired by our share vision of Christ's Kingdom, the House Of Mercy was incorporated as a non-profit entity under the Laws of the State of California and is firmly committed to enhancing the social mission of the Hispanic Catholic Church Servants of the Holy Cross.
The HOUSE OF MERCY is based upon the conviction that each person is responsible for his or her own destiny; this responsibility includes their past country, the present, and most certainly, the future.
We believe that everyone must commit themselves and that through dignity, meaning, and hope the natural expressions of that commitment are shown.
