The sole mission of the Festival is not only to provide an opportunity for the young Korean second generations to appreciate their culture and tradition, but it is an instrument for which allows people with diverse nationality to come together and share each other’s culture to gain a better understanding of their fellow neighbors.
The Los Angeles is well known as the city with large population of over 200 diverse nationalities.
This unique characteristic of Los Angeles city allows the Korean festival to grow into an event where the whole community can join and celebrate one another’s cultures.
The Los Angeles Korean Festival has grown larger than we first anticipated.
Therefore, the purpose of the festival has also grown, yet it still maintains its roots.
The mission in threefold:
• To promote racial harmony throughout the Los Angeles.
• To introduce Korean culture to the community and continue to pass on the next generations.
• To celebrate the Harvest Moon (“Hangawe” the Korean Thanksgiving).
